“Come, Holy Spirit! (Comforter, Trouble Maker!)”Scripture: John 14:16-26

Let’s continue to enjoy the “Season of the Spirit” and explore the work of the Holy Spirit this week.

As Jesus prepared to leave his disciples, he promised the coming of the Advocate, the Spirit of the Living Christ. The Holy Spirit lives alongside us, within us, helping us navigate the ebbs and flows of life, guiding us and even chiding us into our next steps. The Holy Spirit assures a life of adventure!

I’m relying on the Holy Spirit a lot these days. Listening for God’s voice as I learn about this vibrant church. Noticing the Spirit working through you and the wise leadership here. Thank you for your gracious welcoming and your guidance as I make my way.

I know St. Andrew may feel a bit strange to you during this time… the church continues in its steady, energetic work. Yet, with your loss of Rich and the fundamental change in pastoral leadership, you are bound to feel “off kilter.”

It is the nature of transition; it can be unsettling. Let’s find our way together with our advocate, the Holy Spirit – an enlightening travel companion! – who will love and comfort us, and also lead us into the new day.

Blessings in Christ,

Jan
Rev. Jan Reynolds
