Pain is a great teacher if we are willing to be taught

Pain is a great teacher if we are willing to be taught. I believe part of the reason Jesus ended up seeking out those who were sinners, is they were the ones most likely to be in pain and know it. We all suffer, but for too many of us we have the resources to cover up the pain and numb it. If you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, there is an amazing community of healing that meets Thursday nights at 7pm and Sunday mornings at 11:30 at St. Andrew. These are twelve step healing groups. They don’t offer quick and easy solutions, but if we are willing to sit with our pain and let God work in our lives through the twelve steps (there is no more biblical practice), then over time the promise of healing begins to come true. I’m come to see pain as a patient teacher–most of the time. That is especially true if I let the Holy Spirit shape me in the context of community. All are invited. Rich
