Prior to your chosen Sunday, you will be sent a letter from the office confirming your sign-up, a form to fill out specifying what you would like printed in the News and Notes, and a return envelope to mail the form and your check back to St. Andrew.
WORSHIP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Are you looking for a way to be of service alongside our St Andrew family? We’re looking for 2 ushers each Sunday to help collect the offering, be helpful in seating our congregants, and general service during our Sunday Worship Service. SEPTEMBER MISSION FOCUS: This month the Missions Committee is highlighting The Redwoods Presbytery Mission, Pedal for Protein. Pedal for Protein (P4P) is a group bike ride sponsored by the Presbytery of the Redwoods, Hunger Task Force based in Napa, California. All funds raised are donated to Northern California Food Banks for local food pantries and one international hunger relief project. Participation helps many grassroots food pantries that are struggling to provide quality protein food such as canned tuna, peanut butter, canned beans, yogurt, eggs and more to hungry families, seniors and children along the Northern California Coast from the Golden Gate Bridge to Crescent City, also including Napa, Solano and Lake Counties. Pedal for Protein raised over $60,000 in 2021. In its first eight years, riders have raised collectively $352,000! The 9th Annual 5-day fundraising ride will take place from September 11 – 15, 2022. Once again, a generous family in our congregation has offered a donation match to help us reach our goal! Envelopes are available in the bulletin today or you can send your contribution directly to the church.
GARDEN OF REMEMBRANCE UPDATE. In October, the Planning Committee for the Garden of Remembrance will be assessing whether we have enough interest and participation to proceed with the project. Therefore, if you are interested in purchasing a niche in the columbarium or a memorial plaque, we encourage you to step forward as soon as possible, and let us know by making a commitment and deposit by September 30 at the latest.
