St. Andrew Youth Ministry program for High School Juniors and Seniors

WHO:  11-12th graders

WHEN:  February 19, March 4, 25, April 1, 15, May 6

TIME:  10:45 AM—12:00 Noon

WHERE:  Conference Room

LEADERS:  Judy Morgan, Ed Vaughn, Denis Ljung

WHAT:  To help prepare for life after high school.

The mission of this program is to better prepare high school youth spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally for the transition from high school to college, career or military service.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20—CHILDREN’S CANCER KNIT AND CROCHET GROUP

10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon—Home of Ellen Black—201 So. Temelec Circle—935-6105

NEXT WEEKEND, FEBRUARY 24, AT 11:00 PM, 8-12th graders are meeting here to start a 30 hour juice fast! We will be raising awareness of what is means to go hungry, not have the blessing of an education, and a few other things that we take for granted! Each youth has a goal to raise $30. That will feed a child for a month! Our group goal is to raise $2,500. We will share a little of what we learned that Sunday, Feb. 26th! Contact Dawne with any questions. BEGINNING THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 26—LENTEN SERMON SERIES STUDY

Study Groups will be meeting to discuss Pastor Rich’s Lenten Sermons using scripture references from the Gospel of Mark.  Stop by the table in the fellowship hall to sign up for the time and place most convenient for you.  The study will last for six weeks.  Please join in for a stimulating discussion.

FRIDAY, MARCH 2, 2012, 8:00 PM—FIRST FRIDAY WORSHIP (SINGLES OUTING)

Come on single people!  Let’s go to First Friday!  It’s a worship service that is entirely contemporary Christian music.  No sermon.  Open Communion is served for those who wish, near the end of the service.  Let’s go and gather at Starbucks down the street after the service.

SUNDAY, MARCH 18TH, 2012, 5:00 PM TO 8:00 PM

KICK UP YOUR HEELS! ST. ANDREW WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP is hosting a FAMILY POTLUCK AND WESTERN DANCE NIGHT. A professional caller will conduct Line and Square dancing. Cost of this event is $5 each or $10 per family.  Guests are asked to bring a POTLUCK dish to share and table service. Tickets will be available on February 26th and the next three Sundays between services. This event will be held at St Andrew and all singles, couples and families are invited.

NEXT MEDSHARE OPPORTUNITY—SATURDAY, MARCH 24TH

Since 2009, many at St. Andrew have volunteered at MedShare, the non-profit agency that collects and distributes unused medical supplies and equipment for distribution in developing countries, local clinics and in emergency situations around the world. On the fourth Saturday of every month, we will be sorting and packing medical supplies for distribution in the San Leandro facility. Today and each Sunday we will have sign up sheets available, in the fellowship hall between services, for the months of March through September. We need at least 10 people/session. No medical experience is necessary.
