TODAY IS COMMUNION SUNDAY and it is the time when an offering is taken for the Deacon’s Fund. This offering is used to help families or individuals in the Sonoma Valley who are in urgent need. The money is also used to support the convalescent home ministry and for communion supplies for those who are shut-ins. Please use the Deacon’s Offering envelopes in the pew racks for your offering.

Saturday, March 13 is the date of the garden dedication which dovetails with Arbor Day. Here is the schedule:
9-11 AMWork party that will be planting two trees at the entrance to the Center in memory of Bob Cannard, plus another tree which has been donated by the Sonoma Garden Club in memory of the Wells Family.
11 AMCeremony honoring the partnership (SCC, City of Sonoma, County of Sonoma Water Agency, Sonoma County Master Gardeners) and doing a couple of formal speeches about the tree plantings and the people being memorialized by this living monument.
11:30 AMThe mayor, Steve Barbose, will dedicate the Maloney Family WaterWise Demonstration Garden, in honor of Susan, John, Aiden and Grace Maloney who were killed last November. Susan was an important board officer and member of the Sonoma Community Center and was twice the chair of our Sonoma Valley Muse fundraising event, the largest fund raiser for SCC. The garden is a living memorial to remember the Maloney Family and will be an educational tool that can be used to teach people how to make a garden beautiful without using a great deal of precious water. No need to RSVP, just show up!
DAVID IRVINE IS MENTORING RON PERKINS (FOR HIS SENIOR PROJECT AT SONOMA VALLEY HIGH)
The funds generated will go to the SVHS Music Department, for their upcoming trip to New York, where they will compete in the Heritage Music Festival. This is their last fundraising event before their trip in April. A portion of the tickets purchased at St. Andrew will go to St. Andrew’s Youth Group, who are helping by “being the church” for this community event. People are encouraged to attend either before or after church. In addition to a full pancake breakfast, there will be some great silent auction items, including hotel stays, restaurant dinners and more ………..

**We gladly accept the larger ink cartridges. We now have a source for recycling them and are being given an excellent trade-in credit! Support the hand bell choir by placing your empty ink cartridges in the designated baskets in the narthex. For each piece played by Festival Bells costs approximately twenty cartridges.
