Sunday School (Infant – 5th Grade)

Every Sunday children explore the story of Jesus through games, drama, and cooking.

Nursery:
Paid nursery staff and church volunteers care for young children of parents attending Sunday services and adult education programs. Regina is our primary caregiver for the nursery and usually waits in the middle of the church (in the main entryway to the sanctuary) before the service starts to greet children and parents as they come in.

Children are a priority at St. Andrew. As with all our programs, we strive to provide the best care, loving arms, and safe environment for our children during Sunday services. The nursery is open for newborn infants through 2 years. Our friendly nursery staff can be found in the Nursery Room upstairs from the main sanctuary.

Discovery Time:
As part of worship services each Sunday, the Director of Children’s Ministry includes “Discovery Time”, bringing young members of the congregation forward for a brief discussion of important issues and the delivery of life lessons in language they can understand.

Sunday School Programs

Preschool: Children ages 3-5 (not yet in Kindergarten) meet  in the preschool room (104) where a teacher greets children each Sunday Morning.  The preschoolers hear a bible story, complete a craft, and have snack, and enjoy outside play time on the play structure.

Please Note: Our Preschool Teacher, Karen, waits in the middle of the church (in the main entryway to the sanctuary) before the service starts to greet children and parents as they come in. Following the Discovery Time portion of our church service, she accompanies children to the classroom. Visitors and folks who are new to the church should not go straight to Room 104 when church starts as no one is there for about 10 minutes into the service.

School Age: Our Sunday School program is called “The God Zone”. This program utilizes a rotation model to transform Sunday school into an unforgettable faith adventure.  First children are greeted by their Tribal Shepherd (children are grouped into Tribes by school grade):

9:00am Service:
K/1/2- Tribe of Simeon
3/4/5- Tribe of Dan
10:45am Service:
K/1/2- Tribe of Judah
3/4/5- Tribe of Zebulan

Tribal Leaders meet with their groups for the first twenty minutes of each week to focus on faith development: learning key scriptures, worshiping and praying together and nurturing a heart for missions.   Following tribe time children experience a new workshop each week where they delve into the Bible story through exciting learning activities that bring into play all the intelligences, allowing God’s truth to engage all the pathways to their hearts and minds.

The Workshop Zone curriculum offers eight unique and interactive workshops that explore the depths of a single Bible story.
